Pat Morgan
The Joy of Painting
About the Artist
As a painter, Pat was quite the late bloomer. Following her retirement, she began classes in watercolor and
it was love at first stroke. She studied with well known artists Charles Reid and Mel Stabin, a wonderful painter and
teacher having the most influence on her work.
Pat has been painting for 18 years and early on focused on landscapes and flowers as her models. Over the last many years she has concentrated mostly on painting figures. "I have fallen in love with painting children. There is such innocence and tenderness in their gestures." Recently I have returned to painting in oils - a very different process but I am enjoying the challenge.
Teaching is another passion for Pat. Her demonstrations and lessons focus on capturing just the essence of her subject. She has taught for many years in New York, New Jersey and currently in Henderson County in North Carolina.
Pat has received several local and regional awards and is a signature member of the North East Watercolor Society, Audubon Artists, Inc. and a former elected member of the NJ Water Color Society and the Salmagundi Club in NYC.
Her watercolors are included in her husband's ten poetry books and when not painting or in her gardens, she enjoys teaching sharing her love of painting.
